I am currently studying literature about The Dialogical Self and I might not be able to restrict myself from bringing quotes now and then. Today it´s about how a dialogical process is reciprocal - or should be - to be a dialogue. I´ve got a friend´s love story in mind and this following sentence strikes me as I assume a close relationship to be a dialogue. As an argentine Tango.
"When one of the parties is not allowed to play a role as an active and reciprocal contributor of the interchange, dialogue is reduced to monologue because one voice is in control of the situation at the expense of the active contribution of the other to a commonly produced result." (Hermans & Hermans-Konopka 2010, p. 39)
